"Behind the Crown"
This was the original piece that the DWM software was created for in 2003 as a final degree piece. The concept was to use the iconic and recognisable profile of Queen Elizabeth II created using hundreds of photographs of the people and places that gave a glimpse of everyday 'real' Britain.
It won an award from the University and having been displayed in University House for a year is now on permanent display in the library.
Arc de Triomphe
This mosaic was created using photographs taken while travelling around Europe visiting Bruges, Amsterdam, Germany, Luxemburg and several regions of France, including Paris with its iconic structures. This image of the Arc de Triomphe was taken just before it started raining and the sky was very atmospheric, enhancing the dominating form of the arch.
Berlin Mosaics
While on a trip to Berlin I naturally took hundreds of photographs. I decided to use these to make a series of three photo mosaics which were then displayed alongside other artworks from Berlin in an exhibition titled "Unified View". I tried to encompass a range of cultural and historical subjects for the main images.
